SAN RAMON, Calif. – June 26, 2007 –
AchievoR Corporation, the leading global software and information
technology outsourcing provider with a local front-end and China
back-end service model, today announced its continued sponsorship
of the Achievo Cup, an annual local volleyball tournament made
possible by Achievo and the Northern California Chinese Athletic
Federation (NCCAF). The tournament will be held at San Jose State
University’s main gym on Saturday, June 30 through Sunday, July
1, 2007. The Registration fee is $100 per adult team, $50 per
student team. Teams can contact the NCCAF at 510/796-9988 or via
the web at www.nccaf.org.
“We are very proud to continue our tradition of sponsoring
this fine event,” said Dr. Robert P. Lee, Achievo’s chairman and
CEO. “Last year the Achievo Cup attracted 34 teams from a wide
diversity of Bay Area communities. Many players came from
Silicon Valley’s high tech industry. The Achievo Cup promotes
unity, friendship and fun among the Bay Area’s Chinese American
communities and builds bridges across cultures. These are all
values shared by Achievo and we are extremely proud to attach
the Achievo name to this fun and worthy event.”
Now in its fifth year, the tournament is an amateur event
organized and run by volunteers, including former coaches of
Chinese women’s national volleyball team, Tianren Zhang and
Peilan Qu, and made possible by support from the NCCAF (under
the auspices of the Chinese Culture Athletic Federation), and
corporate sponsorship. There is no qualifier to enter, and
medals are awarded to the top three teams in each of four
leagues: All-Men, All-Women, Co-ed and Senior.
The event is limited to one designated sponsor annually.
In addition to Achievo sponsorship, Achievo co-founder Sandy
Chau is personally donating customized shirts and gym bags for
all the players, referees and administrators associated with the
tournament.
We appreciate Achievo Corporation’s continuing sponsorship
for this worthy and popular event. As the most recognized
Valleyball tournament among overseas Chinese around the world,
NCCAF anticipates record-breaking attendance and team
participation from bay area communities this year and we look
forward to partnering with Achievo to better serve the community
in the future, said Betty L. Yuan, chief executive officer of
NCCAF.
